Vegan By Myself

I think the hardest thing I have had to do is to decide to be Vegan in a house of meat eaters.

If you ever got to know me you would know that I don't like to rock the boat. I have been a people pleaser most of my adult life. I am much more comfortable following than leading. That has changed.

I have slowly come to the point where I am no longer concerned about what people think of me. This includes those that I love. I am more concerned about not harming living beings, the truth, and walking in the light that I have.

I know that some people would preach to their family members, telling them they are wrong. But if you can't accept the people in your life as they are, letting go of the need to change them, then you will never be at peace. You will cause endless strife and friction.

You came into this life alone and one day you will die alone. You might as well stand up straight and live your best life now. Nobody can make you a better you except you. If you must walk alone, then do so with peace of mind, for you are practicing right action.

I am not pretending it's easy. But no one ever promised us it was going to be easy. Why do you think the sixth aspect of the Noble Eightfold Path is right effort. Sometimes you just have to push through the loneliness. Other times you relax and let go. This all calls for wisdom.
